Ocean Five Hotel

The staff were friendly, nice, and helpful, and the room had enough space for one person, with a small separate area for clothes. Getting in with a code was convenient since there was no key to carry. But the room itself felt more like a hostel than the five-star experience they claim to offer. Everything was noisy: the bathroom fan was so loud it was hard to think, and the fridge kept making noise too. The oversized pillows were uncomfortable, the lighting was dim and insufficient, there was a strange smell, and the door was broken. I stayed three nights, and it felt like I was paying for the Ocean Drive location rather than the room or service.

The location was the only good part, unfortunately. The place felt very old and wasn't clean, and the daytime staff weren't very friendly. The walls are so thin that sleeping at night was impossible. We got a deal, so I wasn't too upset, but at full price I would've been livid. The people messaging us through the Airbnb app during the stay were really nice. I'm sorry I can't give it a higher rating.

The room was dirty, just as it looked in the pictures. Its AC was full of fungus and mold, didn't work properly, and left the room hot. That seems like a health issue as well as a comfort problem, and I find it unacceptable even at this price. For not much more, we found a good room elsewhere on Ocean Drive.

We stayed here after our cruise for a few days in South Beach before heading home. The location is great and convenient. The rooms need renovation, but it's a good option if you mainly need somewhere to sleep and won't spend much time in the hotel room.
