Red Lion Bed & Breakfast

After an exhausting eight-hour drive, the quiet, very clean room made it easy to sleep like babies. We found this gem on hotels.com for a wedding weekend and arrived after check-in, but George was still available to greet us and offer whatever we needed. He was friendly and accommodating throughout. We didn’t get up in time for breakfast either day, though the smell of bacon and eggs drifting into our room each morning felt like home. I appreciated being able to choose a room with a private bathroom for a small upgrade, and there’s onsite parking too. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone.

The little library and thoughtfully chosen board games made staying in for an afternoon or evening sound pretty appealing. Red Lion is handy for nearby restaurants and attractions, and York proper, along with plenty of other things to do, is 20 minutes away or less. We only booked at the last minute for one night, so we hadn’t expected George to accommodate our dietary restrictions. He kindly went out of his way to make us breakfast, and I’m very grateful. Our room was clean and extremely comfortable, and the B&B was an incredible value. George was also a courteous, kind host. We’d love to come back soon.

The restored historic house was a lovely place to catch up and unwind on our long-planned weekend trip to a local festival. My husband and I stayed two nights with my cousin and her husband, who came from Pittsburgh. The rooms were immaculate, and we had fluffy terry-cloth robes to use. Breakfast was delicious and worked with our vegetarian diet. The grounds were blooming and pretty, with a few chickens in their area and night-time coops to keep them safe. Free parking is available in a corner of the property. George was helpful with everything, including directions to the interesting center of Lancaster and lunch recommendations. Every detail felt pitch-perfect.

We had a cozy, clean room and a delicious breakfast. With the nice weather, my friend and I also got to enjoy the yard’s small water feature, fire pit, and picnic tables. Food was only a few miles away, tasty, and reasonably priced. George, we enjoyed our stay and wish you and your family well.
