We asked to check out early, and the receptionist apologized and gave us a refund. We didn’t want any more interactions with the place. The front desk had accommodated our request for a room below the third floor, and the friendly greeting was nice. The room was clean, but clearly needed repairs. Stains on the walls, loose baseboard, and old, dirty caulking around the kitchen and bathroom were discouraging. We later found the place was infested with roaches. Some residents seemed to live there permanently, which is fine, but a few were very inquisitive and made me uneasy about leaving anything behind. We ended up loading all our belongings every time we went out, which was a major hassle. I also saw people break into a room by climbing through the window because they apparently didn’t have a key. Several others saw it and did nothing. Later, someone had a key and used the door. I can’t recommend this location and wouldn’t stay there again.

The price was great, and the rooms were fine apart from the toilets. We had three rooms, and each one had a toilet problem: one made a horrible racket after flushing, one lifted off the floor at the back, and another kept running and didn’t flush well. The front desk staff weren’t personable. I left a few things behind and they did retrieve them for my mother to pick up, but every interaction made me feel like a bother, or like they just weren’t interested.

I had to cancel my seven-day stay, but got a refund for the unused days with little to no trouble. Edward at the front desk was amazing, really patient, professional, and understanding. For customer service alone, five stars. Cleanliness and bugs, three stars. The room was decently clean, but you get what you pay for. There was some rust on the fridge and metal hangers, plus a slight roach problem, which seems customary anywhere in Texas.

I’ve been here for work, and it’s not a great place to stay more than a night or two. There are too many people living here, and some prowl around all night and fight, so it’s not relaxing. My key card worked fine for the first two weeks, but for the last three days I’ve had to get it re-keyed every day. A couple of the cleaning staff are great, others not so much. I travel for work and have stayed in many places. Despite a few things that have happened, it hasn’t been too awfully bad, but you have to be careful. They’re updating furniture and beds in some rooms, at least. I always bring cleaning supplies and disinfect, even at the cleanest motels. Nobody’s perfect, and at least some staff try. I’d give more stars if they cared a little more about guests who don’t live here permanently.
