Motel 6 Red Oak, TX - Dallas

There were several bugs, and I dealt with some of them with my shoe. A sharp piece of metal was sticking up from the floor just outside the bathroom. The door is wide enough to meet ADA requirements, but it’s hard to open all the way. Someone has tried to improve things, but it needs more professional work. The water doesn’t get hot enough, and the pressure is too low for the rain head. Bring a cup or bowl if you want to wash and rinse anything below your shoulders and upper torso. 👀🤔😉

The location is loud, the rooms are dated, and the beds are broken and uncomfortable. Asking to move didn’t help, and, from the owner’s negative comment below, it seems they don’t care about your stay. You have to get your own towels and toilet paper each day, rooms aren’t cleaned daily during your stay, and the shower floors are slippery and unsafe. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

I reserved through an app and the payment went through, but the hotel system didn’t show the correct debit card details. The woman at the desk wouldn’t change them, get the manager, or call anyone who could help. The app’s customer service confirmed the transaction had gone through with the right details, but cancelling would mean I lost my refund. The hotel still wouldn’t give me a room. The next day, I got an email saying I had stayed, and when I checked the reservation, it was no longer under my name. It showed “guest .”

I was told to pay when I arrived, even though the room wouldn’t be ready until that afternoon. When I got in around 7:00 pm, there was no microwave. I called, and one was brought up about an hour later. The next day there were no fresh towels, the trash was still there, and the bed hadn’t been made. Same again on day three. The office said they don’t enter a room without permission, something no one told me at check-in. I’ve never had to give permission for hotel room cleaning, and I’ve spent years in field service staying at many hotels. Then I was told they only come into rooms on Tuesday and Thursday. Two towels aren’t enough for that long, and the answer was to come to the office for clean ones. This is the worst hotel service I’ve had, even after staying in some pretty rough places. I need internet for work, but it buffers every 2 minutes. No more Motel 6 for me.
