Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Redding

The lobby area looked cute, and check-in went smoothly. Nora at the front desk was really nice and helpful. We asked where to get lunch nearby, and she pointed us to a nice little deli. It was a pleasant visit, and I’ll definitely come back if I’m in town again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the rest of the staff were great too. The highlight was the pleasant, welcoming lady serving breakfast in the Chicago Bears apron. She’s the best!

The rooms were clean, and I was impressed by how many options they had at breakfast. Valley and the other staff were welcoming, and Megan was exceptionally amazing. My stay was excellent, and Megan helped me extend it. Fairfield Inn and Suites deserves five stars. I’ll definitely stay there anytime I’m back in Redding!

The room conditions and air quality weren’t acceptable for me. In the first room on the third floor, there was a strong water-damage smell. The second room on the same floor smelled like stale sweat. I opened the window to air it out, but after about an hour my skin felt irritated. Later that night I woke with a severe sinus headache, wheezing, and facial swelling, symptoms I typically get from mold or mildew exposure. I checked out several hours later and moved to a more expensive hotel so things wouldn’t get worse. The building seemed old and had noticeable odors suggesting maintenance problems, even though it looked recently updated. I can’t recommend it to anyone sensitive to allergens or smells. The late-night staff member was friendly and welcoming, and the front desk agent quickly switched my room when I asked, though they seemed to be in a heated conversation in the back. The well-lit parking lot is shared with the neighboring Home2 Suites, in an industrial area.
