Residence Inn by Marriott Loma Linda Redlands

The woman at the front desk was nice, but the cleanliness was awful. It looked like they’d straightened the room without actually cleaning it after the last guests. Two hand towels were stained, and the toilet seat hadn’t been cleaned properly. In my photos, you can see dried urine splashes and a stain from solid waste.

This was about the worst stay I’ve had at a Marriott property. The kitchen utensils were dirty, there was no luggage rack, the ironing board was ripped, and the TV control box was hanging halfway off its mounting screws. I was told the EV chargers were included in the parking fee, but they weren’t, and Tesla will bill you. Then the front desk had an unbelievable attitude, saying, “we’ll do better on your next visit.” There won’t be a next time.

I strongly suggest staying elsewhere. I booked directly through Marriott, but this property is privately owned and doesn’t honor Marriott’s culture, despite offering Marriott amenities. I’ve never had an experience like this at another Marriott. Non-management staff acknowledged an obvious mistake, but management wouldn’t admit it or fix it. They blamed the system and contractors instead. Luis and Moana aren’t qualified to manage, in my opinion. Shame on Marriott for honoring this group as a franchise, and shame on the group for hiring and promoting thuggish behavior. I strongly believe this happens behind Marriott’s back, because I can’t imagine Marriott allowing it. People may judge without all the details, so I’ll only say this: after their mistake, I tried to correct it and show proof, but forced entry couldn’t be stopped. The assistant general manager’s foot was inside my door. Would you be okay with Luis putting his foot at your door because you disagreed with someone, especially if you had a young daughter? That’s all I want people to know.

I’ve stayed here twice and will come back. The rooms are great, and Chris, one of the facilities guys working mornings, was really nice and helped me out several times.
