Budget Inn Redwood City

Cockroaches and long black hairs were in my bed sheets when I arrived. Then, at midnight, I was woken to hear that a system glitch could mean I’d be charged twice. There are several other options that cost only a little more. I cut my losses and checked out early. Don’t stay here or make the mistake I did.

I had my truck wrapped here, and the results were amazing. Brian and his team worked quickly and professionally and made sure everything was just right. Highly recommend!

EDIT: I get to join the group of people who used to be happy with what they got for the money. I didn’t photograph every nook and cranny, so I can’t fight them, but this felt like a scam. I would have been happy with what I paid for without the security deposit divebombing my finances. The deposit wasn’t listed on any travel website, and they insisted I trashed the room. I was a good, quiet guest and paid upfront and on time. Given the hotel’s upkeep, the number of homeless people, and the fact that my door didn’t lock all the way, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone came in after I left early. Shame on you, Budget Inn. I’m disabled and trying to find more permanent housing while ill, after escaping domestic violence. Is repeatedly grifting people really the moral or ethical way to treat them? I’m incredibly disappointed. That deposit is literally the difference between making it to the end of the month and not. TL;DR: I would have recommended this place if they hadn’t sprung a security deposit on me after check-in, when it was too late to do anything. It wasn’t fancy, but it was quite nice for the price. My only real complaint was the lack of hot water. Otherwise, everything was nice, and I had a peaceful bed where I could recharge.

The motel was very close to Stanford, but after this awful experience we’d gladly drive farther for a nicer hotel with real customer service. The manager and his son were incredibly unprofessional, argumentative, and rude. The room had patched-up walls and mold in the shower, and didn’t even have a coffee pot. Management acted as if serving us was a bother. Don’t go to Budget Inn.
