Holiday Inn Express Redwood City-Central by IHG

After contacting the hotel about my missing belongings, I was directed to Manager Edgar. He was dismissive and unhelpful, and after looking into it and talking with other staff, I believe Edgar himself took my things. The corporate office has done very little to resolve the issue, and Edgar is still in his job, which worries me for future guests. I never expected this kind of breach of trust at a hotel with a reputable brand. This goes beyond bad service. I urge people to avoid this location until the hotel addresses its security and integrity and holds Edgar accountable. I would not risk my belongings here.

The front desk staff were kind and helpful, and the place was clean in a nice location. It's the usual Holiday Inn setup, just a bit nicer than expected.

Breakfast was a real letdown compared with other Holiday Inn Express locations where I've had more choices. The rooms were decent and had basic amenities, though nothing luxurious. This Redwood City, CA hotel sits on El Camino Real Rd, but the surrounding area didn't seem safe to me. The check-in lobby is tiny, with nowhere to leave guests' luggage and no washrooms. The car park is small too, though we found a spot since there weren't many guests. It's a very basic place to sleep, without a pool, hot tub, or fancy lobby.

We'd stayed here regularly, but after this last visit of three nights, we'll look somewhere else for vacation. We asked to have the room serviced and to get toilet paper, but for some reason they couldn't do anything. We tried to discuss it with Edgar Sandoval, who apparently manages the place. On our departure day, the front desk called and offered a $50,00 discount for the poor service. I accepted, but the discount never came through.
