Fir Grove Motel

Kari was wonderful, and I've stayed there a few times, including for an extended stay. I was there with my mom while we were arguing constantly, and I was often in the hospital because of my seizure disorder. Even knowing I had nowhere else to go, they did their best to help me get away from my mom safely. They also talked with me several times about the issues that led to my seizures. Packages kept arriving there even after I changed my address, and they held onto them as long as they could. When I came to collect them, Kari was really nice and remembered me and my kids. Despite the circumstances, it was a great stay. Some long-term guests were creepy or had substance abuse issues, and the staff dealt with the creepy people as best they could. The rooms were comfortable, though the showers were small, which isn't something they can change. To my knowledge, the housekeeping issues have been fixed. I heard they've renovated, and I'd like to see the changes someday. My roommate lost her job because of the virus, so I may need somewhere to stay sooner rather than later. This is where I plan to spend my money, since other motels cost too much, aren't well kept, or have outright rude staff.

Nathan and his family made sure we had everything we needed during our night at this family-owned motel in a nice little community. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the continental breakfast was better than at most chain motels. There's no AC, but it isn't needed. The community and motel area were quiet, though now and then trucks on the highway might bother some people. That would be true of any place around there, and it didn't stop us sleeping after a day of travel.

The friendly management and staff made the stay pleasant, and the basic accommodations were adequate. It was a little pricey for what we got, though it could have been worse. A table lamp would help, the curtains barely keep light out, and the shower stall was tiny. There was no coffee available, let alone the advertised continental breakfast. Road noise was awful, and they didn't service the room between nights.

For the price, this is a great place to stay. The rooms are what you'd expect at a budget motel, with nice furniture and a homey feel, and everything was very clean. I felt safe there. The owners were kind and made me feel like family. They even took a personal interest in me and asked about my job. It felt more like a B&B than an impersonal corporate hotel. There was a little road noise, but the other positives made up for it.
