Beach Boutique Hotel

A pretty decent basic hotel, with comfortable beds and pillows. A last minute booking can be pricey. Housekeeping could do a better job checking that they’ve cleaned up what the previous guest left behind.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was spacious with good water pressure and steady hot and cold water. The location is hard to beat, and for the price, I can’t complain too much. Still, the room and facilities need some TLC. The shower hadn’t been cleaned before we checked in, which was my biggest issue. The sheets were clean, but the spring beds and pillows were very soft. We needed two or three pillows each to sleep comfortably. The AC worked, though it was noisy. We got used to it after the first night. The hotel really needs updating. The lobby floor gets very slippery when wet, and a guest slipped and hurt his face while we were there. I hope he was okay.

The room had dirty sheets and a dirty drain, and when I called for housekeeping at 9 p.m., no one could be reached. Getting checked in was awful. There was only one group being helped at the desk, and the attendant spent a full minute just putting a key card in an envelope. After waiting an hour, we found out they had the reservation wrong and tried to charge $900 for a $161 booking. My child was crying from exhaustion. The customer service was terrible, and I’ll never return.

The first floor room my family and I had, a special needs or handicap room, smelled of mold and mildew. There was mold on the shower and curtains, and on the ceiling and walls. Even the cleaning person agreed the room smelled bad. The service was terrible, and the front desk person was hardly around when we needed them. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy stay here.
