The carpet had some dirt when we arrived, though the sheets and bathroom were clean, and there were no bugs. The furniture looked worn, but that felt in line with a $65 motel room. It was surprisingly quiet, and I slept through the night without trouble. The room was like a small suite, with a separate breakfast nook, fridge, and microwave. It's attached to the Econo Lodge, where breakfast is served, and close to the Rehoboth Beach bus we rode downtown. For a really cheap stay, this is probably your best bet.

The location was excellent for getting to the beach, but cleanliness and service need serious work. The floor was dirty and looked like it hadn't been swept in a while, and the chair in the front room was torn. I asked the front desk on the second day to plunge the toilet, but it was still clogged when we left two days later. Nobody refreshed the room during our stay, so I had to go to the main lobby for clean towels and washcloths.

The location was good and the price reasonable, but the stay was uncomfortable and absolutely not worth it. We only stayed because we couldn't get a refund, and spent the afternoon cleaning with supplies we bought ourselves. Never again. There was grime and dust on the tables and dressers. The fridge shelves had brown residue that wiped off easily, but the floor in front of it was still dirty and sticky, so we put a brown bag down to keep our shoes from sticking. We found food under the mattress and couch cushions and around the kitchen floor. The tub had stains and mold, and the floors were filthy and sticky in every corner. We wore shoes the whole time. There were also lots of fruit flies in the kitchen, getting into our food, and we kept killing them. I don't know if the dirt caused them. The front door frame and latch were broken, which felt unsafe, and the bedroom door was broken too. The fire alarm was missing, and there was an electric panel in the bathroom. The sinks had no hot water, though the tub did. I'm sure there was more. The place needs a major renovation, and maybe new management or cleaners.

I stayed the first night only because it was late and I needed to rest. I was unhappy with the room and asked for a refund. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It seemed to me that if people don't complain, they'll keep renting these filthy rooms. I always bring cleaning supplies to rentals, and this is why. I added pictures. The whole room looked outdated and unsanitary, and paying $249 a night for it was awful. The room smelled of stale smoke, and the bedding looked unchanged and smelled stale too. The sticky carpet was disgusting, so I couldn't walk around without shoes. There was a dirty diaper in the trash, even though I had no children with me. The fridge was moldy. The curtains looked as if they hadn't been washed in years, and the iron board looked like it had come from the trash. The bathroom floor was sticky, the sink still had paste residue, and the shower curtain smelled like laundry left dirty in a washer. There was dirt and mold on the molding, the ceiling above the tub was falling, and water bubbles ran across the room. The shower drained poorly. The room's safety lock was gone, as if the door had once been kicked in. Places like this shouldn't be open to the public. L&I should be called.

The front desk staff told us they'd had several housekeeping problems, but nothing ever gets done about them. One man even admitted he wouldn't let his own family or kids stay there. Another employee told my sister that he didn't have children, but wouldn't let them stay either if he did. There were electrical panels in the bathroom, which I believe violates the National Electrical Code and is a fire hazard. We were put in a first-floor room, and the outdoor grass was overgrown. We later found out there were fleas in it. Inside, the floors were filthy enough that the kids' feet turned black after half an hour barefoot. There was mold all around the shower, and the bathroom fan didn't work. The sink still had toothpaste stains. Under the couch cushions we found a used cotton swab and a lot of dirt, and there were clumps of hair and dirt beneath the mattresses. The sheets had odd brown stains, with a questionable white splatter near the front door and another brown splatter nearby. The hair dryer was broken with wires exposed, right beside the sink, and we were afraid to try it. The lamp outlets looked filthy and possibly tampered with, so we didn't use them. The front door had no inside latch, only a bolt that could be opened with a key, though other rooms had latch locks. Check-in was poor too. The desk staff didn't greet us, and we had to tell them we were checking in. The key card didn't work. When we went back, the employee rolled their eyes and sucked their teeth, said it was activated and maybe the door was stuck, but offered no help. We had to slam into the door to get it open. After unpacking, we found so many disgusting things that we packed back up and didn't want to stay in that room.
