The Breakers Hotel & Suites

It was an okay stay, but I wouldn't come back. The room was freezing when we checked in, with the thermostat at its lowest reading, and it took a while before I could even take off my coat. The heat was loud, and the TV channels were unreliable. Breakfast was mostly packaged things like instant oatmeal. The decor felt dated. Being near the shops and restaurants was convenient, and there was little noise from elsewhere, though that may have been because it was off season. The pool looked clean but was very small.

The staff were the best part, with excellent service, and the hotel was clean. Parking was free in the garage, every room had a balcony, and the beach was an easy walk away. It's an older place without many extras. Breakfast was like grabbing packaged food at a local gas station. My main complaint is the price. This feels like a $125-a-night hotel, not a $400 one. I've paid $400 for the Cosmo in Vegas, and I can stay at cove haven for less and get a pool and a hot tub in my room. Here there's no view or amenities, and it's very outdated. Everything was fine, but $400 a night for fine feels like a rip-off. I know summer demand affects what they can charge, but this is extreme.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice patio, and the staff were really friendly and helpful to my boyfriend and me. We were just a few minutes' walk from the beach, with shops and restaurants all around. The location was perfect. We had the best stay and will recommend this place to everyone.

We keep coming back with our dog, and have done so for the last five years. The first floor seems to welcome dogs, with plenty of guests bringing theirs, even though Expedia says only service dogs are allowed and the hotel isn't dog friendly. The central location makes it easy to walk everywhere. We used to look forward to a hot breakfast, but what they serve now is nothing like before. They no longer have eggs, bacon, or croissants. It's all prepackaged in plastic, with nothing fresh or hot. Breakfast is still listed, so I wish we'd known before booking. It used to be convenient and good. Now you can get a better breakfast at 7-11.
