Hampton Inn & Suites Reno

I had a pleasant stay, but when I was sitting in the dining area around 6 p.m. while my husband checked in, a dog suddenly came up to me. It was on a leash, but its owner, a child around 9 or 10, had let it go without guiding it. I was shocked and uncomfortable because I have an allergy. Management, please take this seriously and don’t allow pets to play in the dining area.

The room and breakfast were fine, but check your card statements carefully. My Hilton Advance Purchase amount was charged again at checkout on the card I’d provided for incidentals. When I contacted the hotel, they reversed that charge, then put the same amount on another credit card linked to my Hilton account. I understand mistakes happen, but charging the room twice across two separate cards isn’t acceptable. These are business cards with lots of transactions, so the extra charge could easily have gone unnoticed.

The breakfast was the standout, and there was enough that you’d only leave hungry if you chose to. The rooms were nice, pets are welcome, and the customer service was great.

The staff came across as indifferent and uninterested, which was disappointing. Breakfast was typical but decent, and the pool was fine for swimming. There’s a small lake with a walking path, and the hotel is right across from the Legends casino, useful to know if you’re on a road trip. My room was large and clean, with a wet bar and comfortable bed. The air conditioner was a bit noisy. I managed to get online once, but after I was disconnected I couldn’t reconnect, even after hours of troubleshooting and a call to the front desk.
