Hyatt Place Reno

I don't like walking barefoot in hotel rooms, but during this stay I took a few steps that way and was disgusted to find what I assume was dog kibble underfoot. The floor clearly hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned well, so I wonder what else was missed. I'm allergic to dogs and feel sick in rooms that have housed them. Even after thorough cleaning, which didn't seem to happen here, allergens can linger in the HVAC, upholstery, and corners for a long time. Pets can have accidents, too. Does the hotel replace carpet each time, and do guests report every accident? I like animals and people can choose to have pets, but I don't see why every guest has to be exposed. Why not set aside some ground-floor rooms for pets and keep the others pet-free? I can see why hotels allow pets: it brings in more customers and extra money. This one charges a $100 pet fee. But they may be losing customers like me.

There was a little delay at check-in, but it wasn't a major issue. The rest of the stay was pleasant, and since this is a brand-new hotel, everything felt fresh and clean. Our room was spotless and comfortable after a long day. Parking was plentiful, making it easy to come and go, and several restaurants nearby made it simple to find dinner. We also enjoyed the good breakfast selection. I'd consider staying here again.

The arrival area has a strange, very tight turn. The hotel is completely cashless, so I couldn't get change from a twenty to tip someone. It was clean and reasonably quiet, and as far as I could tell, there were no gaming machines, which was a nice break. Breakfast was underwhelming on Saturday, both the food and how it was prepared, but it was good on Monday.

Everyone on staff was great, and the service was outstanding. Jacklyn at the front desk on Sunday night really made the stay. She even brewed fresh coffee for us after hours. Thank you! We'd highly recommend this place.
