Reno 8 Motel

The weekly price is reasonable, and the place is clean, comfortable, and renovated. I looked around quite a bit before booking and found other places charging more that felt like roach motels. The taxes are high, but that’s Nevada, not management’s fault. It’s close to things and easy to get around from here. I suspect the negative management reviews are from an earlier ownership team. The current owners are wonderful, the kind of small business owners I like to support.

It’s a small motel where most guests got to know one another by name. We even watched football together and had a potluck. I spent several weeks here with my service dog, and the management team was friendly and helpful, with suggestions for places to eat and shop around Reno. I’m looking forward to coming back to Reno.

The shower pressure was great, and the rooms were cozy and all different when I asked to look at a few. I’m an out-of-state construction worker who stays in motels long term all the time, and this little place on 4th Street was a comfortable find at a good price for a tight budget. The neighborhood has plenty of adult entertainment, like bars, strip clubs, casinos, and tattoo parlors, so it’s not especially kid-friendly.

I dropped by 8 motel last night to see an old friend who was passing through. The room was really nice and warm, and the whole place feels so clean and fresh, almost like a new spot. Management, right on!
