Silver Legacy Reno- A Caesars Rewards Destination

Reno felt clean to us, and I didn't see the large encampments of unhoused people that I've seen in California. The three connected casinos offered plenty of dining options, and their ticket-in, ticket-out slips worked across all of them. Circus Circus also had an arcade and midway games for families. We stayed a week at Silver Legacy. The room was clean and modern, check-in went smoothly, and the staff were helpful. I used up the coffee in the room on day one, but you can buy a large coffee at the lobby shop and keep the cup for .89 cent refills for the rest of your stay. I didn't find Silver Legacy expensive compared with Vegas or San Diego. My wife and I care about cleanliness, service, location, and value when we travel, and we both thought the hotel and Reno did well on all four.

That $25 quesadilla from Café Central took almost an hour, but it turned out to be the best one we've ever had. The wait became part of the laugh, and it was worth it. We started our night at El Jefe’s, where the bartender was wonderful and made a proper Moscow mule with fresh mint. Crisp and balanced, not the usual afterthought with ginger beer. The service was warm, and the music set a great mood. Great drinks and a fun night. I'd happily do it again.

The view and the pillows were the best parts of the room. The bed was comfortable too, and the room itself was decent. We were there for three days and asked four times, including going downstairs, for our amenities to be replenished. Nobody came, so we had to buy our own toilet paper and garbage bags. Then we got a text about a promotion to stay another night for just the taxes. When we tried to use it, we were told our room didn't qualify and we'd have to move to a completely different room. We passed, and the woman we spoke with was rude and condescending.

The elevators were the biggest hassle. We were on the 20th floor, and with them slow and often packed, the trip up or down could take as long as 20 minutes. We liked seeing Silver Legacy's historic building, which had a definite haunted feel. The room was fine, though nothing special.
