Super 8 by Wyndham Bedford

I hardly ever leave reviews, usually only when a place is amazing or truly awful. This one was awful. We should have left as soon as we saw the owner barefoot in the lobby, not acknowledging us. The room had two lamps that didn't work, outlets shoved into the walls with unreliable connections, and down pillows that seemed years past replacement. The AC fan kept cutting out once the room reached temperature, even with fan speed on HIGH instead of AUTO, so it would go silent. At night we heard every door slam, passing truck, and bed knocking. The whole hallway also reeked of curry. I guess you get what you pay for. We should've spent the extra $30 to sleep at one of the places next door.

The first room had dirty sheets that hadn't been changed, and in the second the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. A little mouse showed up overnight and left droppings in the bathroom. Then, in the middle of the night, a housekeeper started cleaning the hallway. I won't stay here again.

This place is really convenient for truckers, with easy access off a good highway and parking that works for trucks. Food is within walking distance too. I travel constantly as a trucker, and when holiday warehouse closures leave operations at a standstill, I sometimes need a place to stay. I called and was promptly told they welcome truckers and offer trucker rates. I asked to see the room before settling in, and it was nice and clean. The woman at the front desk was outstanding, made everything pleasant, and seemed genuinely excited to have my girl and me there. Super 8 motels can be hit or miss, so I was impressed with this one. I recommend it and decided to stay another night.

Great place to crash in Bedford, and the rates are low. The room was excellent and there was hot water. Outside, they had beautiful flowers growing in early May. Grow, grow! The vending machine was empty, but Taco Bell is right next door, with Sheetz and McDonald's nearby. The night auditor could work on his social skills a bit. Super 8 is booming!
