Walden Hall

Walking out of the house hand in hand with my mother toward the ceremony site is a moment I can’t really describe. Walden Hall made our wedding weekend feel magical. We rented the whole venue, and there was space for my immediate family and my dogs. Everyone was taken with the house, its decor, and the beautiful grounds. The owners and staff were genuinely kind and cared about making the day what I wanted. They accommodated several requests, communicated well while we planned, and handled the day-of problems like pros. I couldn’t have asked for more.

Julie and Dave were so welcoming and flexible with what we needed over the weekend. We held our wedding at the beautiful Walden Hall estate with 136 people, and both our families got to spend the whole weekend together. We heard lots of compliments about the venue, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone planning a wedding.

We had a blast using the downstairs theater room on Saturday night, watching a movie on the big screen with popcorn and wine. It’s first come, first served. Earlier that day we hiked Old Rag after breakfast, and the hike was gorgeous. On the drive home, we stopped at Bald Top Brewery for a well-earned beer. Our end-of-December getaway at Walden Hall was peaceful, with friendly staff who gave us room to enjoy the surroundings and the excellent food. The Walt Whitman suite was really comfortable. I can’t wait to come back when the grandparents can babysit again.

We wanted to escape the DC area for some quiet, so Walden Hall was just right for our extra-long sixth-anniversary weekend. The Whitman Grande Suite had plenty of space and was still comfortable. We loved the pool and private hot tub, and the bathroom shower was probably the biggest we’d ever seen. The weather was great, so we ate outside on the large front porch overlooking the lawn and pond. Breakfast was incredible. There were EV charging stations too, which was a pleasant surprise. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay or a nicer way to spend time together.
