The room was clean and plain, but had the basics: an iron and ironing board, hair dryer, phone, and mini-fridge.

Everything else was wonderful, and the staff were always polite and courteous. The spotless room, towels, linens, microwave, and fridge all felt safe and clean. The room was dated and smelled musty, which is why I'd give the room four stars. I loved having the Matchbox diner right next door, and Rhinebeck's center was a very short drive away. For the area's prices, it was a steal. We used to stay near New Paltz to save money, but I think this is our new favorite place to stay.

The room was huge, and so was the bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. This motel is owned by the Beekman Inn, and the whole room we stayed in had been updated. The bathroom was new, though there was no hair dryer, and the single-use bar of soap barely lathered. A better quality soap would help. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable, the pillows were fluffy, and the tile floors felt clean. My only other complaint was the broken curtain rod. Only one window had a screen, and on a nice fall night I struggled to move the drapes away from the open window so I could sleep in the crisp air. Otherwise, it was perfect.

The room was clean, and we had a really good breakfast at the Beekman Arms. We stayed one winter night, and it worked out well for the price. The place is dated, as other reviewers have said, but that shouldn't put you off. Our room was nice, with a separate suite-like space at the back, a high ceiling, tasteful wood paneling, a fridge, and a microwave. If you're in Rhinebeck and want good value from a B&B, I can recommend the Village Inn.

I'm usually not one to complain about motel rooms, but this place was ridiculous. The first night, I arrived late with my four grandchildren, my son, and my daughter-in-law. The room had several problems, especially mouse or rat droppings on the beds under the sheets. We all squeezed into the one bed that looked clean. The toilet was broken and overflowing, too. When we called the next morning, they gave us a 20% discount. The second night went fine after we cleaned the room ourselves and got the toilet fixed. On the third night, the toilet in the new room they'd moved us to broke again. Their maintenance people came, but said they couldn't fix it because the tank bolts were so rusty. They were going to leave us with no toilet, with four small kids there. I travel all over the country as a general contractor and have stayed in plenty of motels, but never somewhere this nasty with employees this rude. Stay away!
