Holiday Inn Express & Suites Richburg by IHG

The people working there were pleasant and attentive, and everyone I spoke with wanted to help, though their systems seemed to limit what they could do. The room was bright, clean, and well kept, with a comfortable bed. Water was the big problem. From check-in there was no cold water, and the hot was only lukewarm. Nothing we tried changed that. The front desk said plumbers were working on it, and I figured these things happen. At night it was still lukewarm, though at least we could adjust the cold. I thought the heater might just need time to recover, but by Sunday the water was completely cold. The pool was apparently toxic and shut by the authorities. Breakfast was simply bad, packaged, lukewarm, and bland. The pancakes were rubbery, and the eggs were chewy and lukewarm.

On our way north, I regretted paying so much for a room I only wanted to sleep in for a few hours. Since it was the weekend, it cost a lot more than on our January stop, and the staff seemed much more ho-hum about service. The room was still fine and the location okay, but they obviously weren’t making an effort. We’d returned because the January stay had been good.

Bad roads left me needing somewhere to stay at the last minute, and I was glad I stopped at Holiday Inn. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. Breakfast was great too. I appreciated how welcoming everyone was when travel was already stressful.

A great stop. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable, and we enjoyed the breakfast with hot coffee. The woman at the front desk was very friendly. I’m sorry I missed her name, but she explained everything we needed to know for our stay.
