OYO Hotel Richburg SC I-77

It was a horrible experience. The room was dirty, with a hole in the wall near the door. The microwave was disgusting, there was hair in the sink and tub, and the carpet was filthy. The bed linens had cigarette burns.

The management was top notch and very respectful. A blond haired woman at the front desk welcomed us and helped with everything we needed. My wife called around Richardson, and this place had the best rates by far. It’s right off the highway, next to a QT where you can fill up before hitting the road again. Easily the best hotel in Richburg SC. 🦍🐺🐉

I chose this place because it was half price, but it wasn’t worth it. I’d never before left a hotel without staying the night. After checking in, I complained about the cigarette smell. The guy at the front counter was nice enough and tried to help, but there was nothing he could do about so many roaches. When I lay down, I felt something scurrying in the blankets. I turned on the light and saw roaches in the bed with me, so I got out of there and moved to the Baymont down the road. The place was falling apart and disgusting, with no smoke detectors and roaches everywhere. The five star reviews are fake.

The manager only offered a refund when we asked for clean linen and insisted he come see the room after we’d called the front desk for a remote and then pulled back the covers. He didn’t apologize, and his face made it clear he didn’t care. I could almost see him wanting to go back to sleep, while we couldn’t sleep at all. The room looked straight out of a horror movie, like crimes had been committed there. The carpet seemed never to have been cleaned or replaced since the motel was built, and seeing it nearly made me throw up. The linens were dirty, there was mold in the tub, and flies were there to greet us. If you’re in the area and the Executive Inn 15 minutes away is booked, I’d suggest sleeping in your car. I’d give this motel no stars if I could. It needs to be burned down and rebuilt by people who care. I don’t understand how it’s still in business.
