Days Inn Richfield

We stay in a lot of hotels, and this was one of the cleanest and friendliest we’ve come across. The breakfast was great, even for a picky eater like me, and the yogurt machine had the best yogurt. The hostess, I think her name was Peyton, was so kind and helpful. Great service, and American owned, too. If you get the chance to stay here, do it.

The breakfast was alright, but the rest of the stay was rough. The beds were so uncomfortable that none of us got any sleep, the floor was filthy enough to turn our feet black, and the bathroom was tiny with barely room to move. There’s no elevator, so we had to make several trips carrying our things upstairs. We were driving from Colorado to California and stopped in Utah for the night. We canceled the reservation for our return trip because we didn’t want to deal with this place again.

The location was great and the internet worked well, but I wouldn’t stay again. They’ve done a nice job updating the shared areas of this refurbished old Motel 6, yet our suite still felt basic and worn. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean, but the furniture was tired, the drawers stuck, the carpet looked dirty, and paint was peeling. There’s no elevator, so we needed help getting our bags to the third floor. The stair rail seemed unsafe to me, old and too wide to grip.

The lobby and breakfast room were bright, open, and clean, and the breakfast was pretty good, with sausage, eggs, and potatoes. But after three days, I was tired of having the same thing each morning. The suite’s windowless living room felt gloomy and wasn’t somewhere I could relax. There was no ice in the machine, so we had to ask the front desk for it, and our room card stopped working two days in a row, meaning extra trips downstairs. The big issue is the lack of an elevator. There are three floors, with the second at the main level, so reaching the first or third means taking the stairs. We had a lot of luggage to carry ourselves. The woman at the desk offered to help, but my medical supplies were too heavy for me to accept. If you’re just passing through with little luggage, I’d still recommend the hotel.
