Courtyard by Marriott St. Louis Brentwood

The area worked well for the event we were attending, and there are several places to eat sharing the parking lot. The lobby has nice food and drink options, and the gym looked better than average. No pool or hot tub, though. Check-in and checkout were friendly and quick, with no line, which was a nice change from bigger hotels. Our room was clean except for a few hairs in the bathroom. The stemless wine glasses were a nice touch, and the bathtub felt great after a long day. Seeing police in the parking lot on the day we left made us uneasy.

I travel for work a lot, so I noticed how good the rooms were for the price. We were really glad we chose the Courtyard by Marriott for our wedding room block. The sales team coordinated the rooms and helped us plan gatherings in the beautiful lobby. Everyone, from the front desk and bartender to the custodial staff, was fantastic about letting us use the common area to welcome guests Friday evening and see them off Sunday morning.

The highway-facing rooms get a lot of street noise, which is why I gave this three stars. For the price, I expected better sound insulation. There were also a few annoying little problems: coffee cup lids that were too small, a coffee maker that spat hot water while I was filling it, and a very slow TV remote response. Maybe the remote batteries were low, but I also had to keep logging back into Netflix. The price is high, and you can get more for less elsewhere in the city. The location is great for restaurants and shopping, the staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the Wi-Fi is solid.

I flew into town for a funeral, and Amanda at check-in helped me with a bereavement rate. She was willing to help and got me settled quickly so I could get ready for the service. Her kindness and compassion made the stay so much better. Employees like Amanda are why I stay loyal to Marriott. Thank you for being so helpful.
