Holiday Inn Express Savannah South I-95 - Richmond by IHG

The staff seemed friendly, and it's right by the interstate, which made the location work for me. Still, for the price I've stayed at better places. The nearby area has the usual fast food, a few local restaurants, and a Food Lion and Dollar General within about a mile. The building is an older Holiday Inn Express, with window AC units. My room was clean enough, and the bed was okay, but the pillows were awful. They looked thick and fluffy, then sank flat under my head. I needed three to support my neck. Guests nearby played the news loudly from 8 am to 1 am, then again from 6:30 to 8 am. That part wasn't the hotel's fault. I was annoyed that I couldn't eat outside, because the patio is part of the pool area and doesn't open until 9 am, exactly when breakfast ends. Breakfast itself was good for bread. The dining area is beside the elevator, with a couple of window-facing tables and the usual tables, maybe enough for 12 people elbow to elbow. Coffee is available 24/7, but both machines had warnings that they needed rinsing. The food room was behind a padlocked door. There are two Enphase level 2 chargers by the front entrance. On my first day, I parked near the back and saw what looked like a human-sized turd in the next space, as if it had been there a while. There was also a random charcoal grill by the fence.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a couch and coffee table, soft beds, and nice pillows. Breakfast was fabulous. My only gripe was the shower, which wasn't very clean and had a lot of stray hair in it. I'd definitely stay again.

It's so close to I-95, making it a great stop on our way to Florida, and the rooms were quiet. The room had been nicely updated, with a comfortable bed, microwave, and fridge. The bathroom had a tub and shower. Staff were friendly, and the included breakfast was way better than at any other IHG hotel I've stayed in.

The hotel itself was clean and seemed to be in a quiet spot, but there were homeless people wandering around the property at all hours. Nobody at the front desk greeted us, and the manager was wearing pajamas when we arrived. The staff came across as rushed and bothered by everything. Someone at the desk complained to me, without being asked, about wanting to get off their shift. The breakfast cleaner tried to hurry everyone out 45 minutes before breakfast ended. They also checked us out before we had checked out ourselves, which locked my husband out of our room before checkout time.
