Red Roof Inn Savannah - Richmond Hill/ I-94

The building is definitely older, but our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were on the first floor and could hear people above us walking around in loud shoes and playing loud music.

The new manager was kind and worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed, and the staff were nice too. I liked the location, with stores and restaurants nearby and easy access to all the fishing spots. Being dog friendly matters a lot to us, and your first dog stays free. I'm satisfied with my stay overall.

We were stuck with this stay because our booking was nonrefundable. We chose the hotel for its price and free breakfast, but on arrival they said breakfast wasn't available because of a "kitchen issue," with no discount. They said coffee and juice would be available. It seemed like they were still able to offer things like waffles, toast, fruit, or cereal, so I don't believe the postings accurately described what was on offer. The room looked nice at first, but it smelled very strongly of mildew or mold, and the air wasn't on. We turned it way down hoping the smell would clear. The coverlets had some stains, though they had been washed, and the bedding looked clean. Later we could see mold along the ceiling, so it wasn't just a damp smell. For four adults in a two-bed room, they had left only one towel, one hand towel, one washcloth, and no tissues. In the morning, the toilet was leaking and there was a puddle on the floor. At checkout, the regular coffee was good, but there was no decaf for my dad and no real cream or milk, just powdered creamer. The juice was watery but not terrible. When I asked about decaf, the response was that it was out, hadn't been replaced, and they didn't have any. There didn't seem to be any concern or a real apology. The sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable, the refrigerator worked, and the refresh was nice. The room did look nice.

I had to book online in an emergency, traveling from out of state for my father's funeral. The booking put me on the wrong day, the day before, which had already passed. When I arrived, the attendant assured me I'd get a refund for the mistake, but my card was charged for a night even though I was never in the state. I disputed it through the bank and spoke to the receptionist in person, who again confirmed a refund. After the first refund was issued, they charged my card for another day. I didn't need this stress or what felt like theft while mourning my father. I'll never stay with this hotel chain again.
