Getting to the room was easy, and the location is good. But the room wasn’t clean or properly maintained, with exposed wires and cracked switch plates that might not meet code. The waffle mix at breakfast was inedible, and nobody was staffing the front desk in the morning.

While I was at work, my daughter needed her card reset. The man at the desk refused, said she wasn’t a guest, and threatened to call the police to have her escorted out. She called me to check. He didn’t tell me that he would follow my daughter, a young white girl, to our room to see whether anything inside belonged to her. That crossed a serious line around safety and personal space. One of the worst experiences I’ve had while traveling with her.

Roaches were all over the microwave and bathroom, and even the lights didn’t scare them. When I heated food, a bunch of baby roaches came out of the microwave hinges. At that point it was either make peace with them or go hungry. Randy,Reece,Roland were all cool roaches. Friendly folks. Only an apartment complex has disgusted me more. This place comes a close second.

Double-check that you’re at the right hotel. I booked the Days inn next door through booking.com, but GPS brought me here. The hostess checked us in as though we had a reservation instead of telling us we were at the wrong place, and we still had to pay for the night. Also, the only outlets were near the bathroom. It’s 2025.
