Inn At Richmond

Angela made sure I had safe gluten-free food because I have celiac, and even baked special sugar-free muffins for my diabetic sister-in-law. Chris and Angela were so accommodating and kind, going out of their way to make my family feel welcome. They say they want guests to feel like friends visiting their home, and that's exactly how it felt. The antique inn sits in a beautiful mountain setting. Ten out of ten, we'll be back!

Horses graze in the fields around this pastoral Berkshire Hills setting. The historic home dates to 1776 and has modern, plush amenities. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was a feast, with several freshly made options. It's on a quiet country road, while still close to plenty of historic and artistic attractions.

A retired show horse shares the beautiful property, and sometimes you can see equestrians practicing jumps on the back acres. The homemade treats are always available, and breakfast is so good it puts some four-star hotels with big staffs to shame. Maybe five-star too, though I've never stayed in one. The hosts restored this 1700s farmhouse with care and skill, and they haven't missed a detail. Still, their quiet presence is what I liked best. They make you feel like friends invited to their country home for the weekend. It's an idyllic place to recharge your soul. Grab it if you can!

Angela's breakfast was delicious, and Chris kindly showed us around the property. We got to meet the magnificent horses, and he explained some of the finer points of equestrian sports. It was a pleasure meeting Eloise, too. Angela and Chris were wonderfully warm hosts. We spent a weekend here in mid-October. The cozy inn and the beautiful Berkshires scenery really brought out the best of fall, and the horse stables added to the charm. I'd highly recommend it.
