We left Nashville after our World cup Soccer game and drove straight to Cincinnati for our next game, canceling our hotel there the night before. We chose this Motel 6 because it’s right off the highway. We slept like a light was switched off, and the $50 price was great. There are two gas stations nearby, across from each other and within walking distance if you don’t want to drive. This was my second Motel 6 stay, first in Ohio and now in Walton. The room was spacious and clean, with no carpet and clean floors. The king bed was very firm, and the pillows were comfortable. The night employee and morning crew were friendly. My only complaints: the body towels were tiny, and they should invest in bigger ones. I also expected shampoo and conditioner, since those are usually provided at hotels and I don’t bring them with me.
It’s now 2:30 a.m. and I still haven’t slept. Whoever is above me has been walking, stomping, and slamming drawers all night. I drove all day and have another full day of driving ahead, and I’m so tired I might not make it. I can handle some noise and know there are people all around me, but this is too much. The man who checked me in sounded like a drill sergeant. Also, driving around here is very confusing.
On a two-day trip, this was an affordable place to sleep. The AC was cold, the mini fridge worked, and we slept well. We had Dominos pizza for dinner, conveniently right in the parking lot. We stayed in what was obviously a pet room. We have a dog, and didn’t mind the damage on the chair arms since we don’t use the chair. The big concern was the door security. The deadbolt and other lock didn’t work properly. The door jamb showed clear signs of damage, and it took a lot of effort to get the deadbolt to catch. The latch on the chain style security lock was broken entirely. Guests need to feel safe, and these locks weren’t good enough. We’ll stay again, but will check them before bringing our things in. The room was clean, affordable, and conveniently located just south of Cincinnati, though there were minor wear and tear issues.
I’d been unsure because of some reviews, but after dealing with a breakdown at the Freightliner next door, I finally came over and was glad I did. I’d already put my things out before taking photos, but I have no worries about staying here.
The beds were a little firm, and the toilet was broken, though it was an easy fix. Otherwise, the room was clean and very nice, with good pressure in both the shower and sink. The AC worked wonders and made it easy to sleep. There were no bed bugs. We were waiting here while our moving truck was repaired back in December 2023. The staff were more helpful than I expected, especially when I asked the front desk to exchange coins for the laundry machines. The lobby was clean, pleasant, and a relaxing place to wait for the wash. Having a burger king there made meals easy, too. For a budget stop, I recommend staying the night. Despite Motel 6’s bad reputation, this place is worth it.
