The room was comfortable, with nice furniture and a pleasant color scheme. It was clean, though some spots could use fresh paint, and the fridge and microwave both worked quietly. I also found enough places to walk my dog. A few guests were loud late at night, but that can happen at a motel. The desk staff were especially helpful: one called ahead about a reservation glitch and fixed it, and another kindly mailed back something I'd left in the room. I was happy with nearly everything and would definitely come back.

We stopped for one night before heading to Death Valley, and the stay went well. The room was clean, though the carpet looked a little off. At 2 a.m., the front desk woman was accommodating and checked us in with our dog for a very reasonable $15 per night. Walmart is about a five-minute drive away, and there's a gas station roughly a minute away.

On Monday 7/1/24, I gave the motel another try. DKatherine checked me in and was helpful. She moved me from the room Debra had assigned before I arrived to a slightly larger corner room next to the one I had asked for in the Special Requests for this booking and the previous stay. It's been updated to look like the website photos, and there's an empty room beside it on at least one side, which should mean less noise. The water pressure is a little better, and this room has an updated chest of drawers, an iron, and an ironing board, which the other room didn't. The bathroom door still swings inward, but it opens a bit farther away from the toilet. I still have to stand beside the toilet to open or close it. The window faces the street, so I can open the curtains for sunlight without people at the motel walking past and looking in. The tables are extremely dusty. I put my laptop on an extra face towel DKatherine gave me, and I'll ask the maid if I can borrow wood cleaning spray to remove some of the dust. The window doesn't open, though, so food and toilet smells can't air out properly. I checked it while writing this, and it definitely won't open. I need fresh air from outside, so feeling stuck in a motel room without it really sucks. There's always something. I'll add more about this stay later; the earlier review is below. I'll put the good and bad points together. The sheets don't seem to be checked. One had cuts and tears, and another was stained and torn. I attached a photo. The room Debra, the manager, gave me was old and rough, even though I specifically asked for an updated room like the ones advertised online. She seemed pleasant and kind, but I was disappointed with the assignment. Photos are attached. The furniture, including the table and chairs, was old, scratched, cut, and stained. The carpet was stained and rough too. I was afraid to open the dresser drawers across from the bed. They looked so worn that I worried they'd fall apart, with roaches or spiders coming out, along with whatever past guests had left behind for the maid to find. They need to replace that furniture. The microwave's display doesn't light up, so you can't see what you're pressing or setting, especially at night or with the curtains closed. That one should be replaced. The toilet lid was badly stained inside, including brown-yellow rings, and needs replacing too. There's also a dead roach behind the toilet, shown in the attached photo. I don't book places with roaches or bedbugs, and if I find them, I expect a full refund for the stay. Debra said only some rooms have the tall rectangular mini-fridge, with a freezer on top and fridge below. She didn't know which rooms had those and which had the useless little box-shaped fridges, so I assume she guessed. Thankfully, I got the tall one and could have frozen groceries delivered, not just refrigerated food. Even on a two-night stay, and especially longer ones, I like having frozen food, including vegan ice cream, and freezing my superfood juices. The bathroom is so cramped that getting between the door and toilet to reach the tub and shower means maneuvering around the toilet without touching it. They need

The desk service was good. The woman there was very nice and helpful, but the rooms need work. This place is old, and it shows. I was upstairs, and the floor had soft spots that sank underfoot. My coworkers below could hear every step so loudly that they left and got another room. The bed was okay, but the bedding had burn holes, and the bathroom had a shower tub.

The air conditioning was dependable, unlike at other local motels, and I trust the Wyndham brand's reputation. The front desk staff even sprayed down my car in the morning while washing the property. The room did feel a bit dusty from the carpet, so cleanliness could be better. Service was great.
