The stay cost more because I was there during balloon fiesta. At the usual rate of around $50, I'd stay again. Check-in was quick and friendly, the hallways were clean, the property seemed well kept, and the area felt safe with food options nearby. Breakfast had coffee, oatmeal, muffins, and tea. The room itself was clean, but one used towel and washcloth had been left up high, possibly somewhere they couldn't reach. The pillowcase was clean, though the pillows smelled like sweat and need washing. The showerhead is over 6’. The A/C made loud noises on the high fan setting.

There was trash in the drawers along with clothes left by a previous guest, and we spotted roaches on our last night. We stayed for just three days. If you can put up with that, the hotel is okay for the price, but next time I'm in Rio Rancho I'll pay more for somewhere cleaner. Basic cleanliness shouldn't cost extra.

It was okay and clean, but there were several problems. Booking turned into a headache, and we got locked out of our room. The microwave was hard to operate because all the instructions on the front were in French. Wi-Fi was extremely weak and kept cutting in and out, and they wanted extra payment for each higher tier. The breakfast they advertise amounted to a muffin, a cup of coffee, a granola bar, and/or hot cereal. In the next room, a loud woman spent all day yelling at her kids.

I was told they allow pets, which I don't mind, but the room smelled like somebody had been raising cats in it, with a hint of perfume. The room looked picked up and clean. The last time I stayed there it was okay and had no smells.

I can't recommend this property. Traffic noise continued all night, and the windows did almost nothing to block it. Racing motorcycles and loud exhausts kept waking me up. Long-term tenants smoked outside the entrance throughout the day despite the “no smoking” signs, so it didn't feel smoke-free. The breakfast dining area was also unavailable during a loud argument between a long-term tenant and a police officer who had been called there. The area felt unsafe. Staff often stayed in the back room instead of greeting people at the desk, leaving customers to wait or call out for service. Parking spaces were hard to find, too. The worst part was the way they handled my reservation. Expedia had confirmed my one-night extension the day before, but no one told me I needed to re-check in. The assistant manager said she'd “wasted her day” trying to reach me, though I never got a call, and she accused me of being “disrespectful” when I tried to explain. She talked over me and interrupted repeatedly, then tried to charge a $98 late checkout fee. When I refused, I was told my reservation was canceled, I'd be put on a do-not-return list, and I had 15 minutes to leave or police would be called. I was also told they would keep my belongings until I paid the fee. I wake early and am gone until late evening, so I would have thought I was an easy guest to have. Because the assistant manager threatened to call police if I didn't leave the room in good order, I called the non-emergency line myself to ask what to do after realizing I hadn't taken pictures. Following their guidance, I had the front desk check the room, and they confirmed it was in good condition. In 30 years of corporate travel, I've never experienced anything like this. Threatening a do-not-return list, a $98 fee, and police over a simple booking mix-up was stressful and inappropriate. A basic explanation of Expedia's policies and why re-checking in matters, followed by waiving the fee as a one-time courtesy, could have settled it and kept a repeat customer. I'm still baffled by how unreasonable this was, and as an owner I'd be embarrassed to know a guest had been treated this way. Please retrain your staff.
