Empire House Hotel

I had such a peaceful, relaxing stay. The host kept everything clean and charming, and the kitchenette was stocked with coffee, hot chocolate, tea, snacks, paper plates, sugar, creamer, paper towels, and real cups. My spacious room was at the front, with a beautiful river view. It had a bed, a small table, two comfortable chairs, and a kitchenette nook with a coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. The bathroom had a claw tub. The decor fits the building's historic character, and I love old buildings, so this place was awesome. It was built as a hotel in the early 1900s and has now returned to that purpose.

The huge, beautiful porch overlooking the river and scenery was all ours to enjoy, and our room was quiet, clean, and cozy, with quaint decor and antique fixtures. My daughter and I were in the area for the Creation Museum and found this gem just across the river. The inn keeper welcomed us warmly when we arrived. The place felt like stepping back to a simpler time, and it was very affordable. We took the free ferry across the river, too. This stay became a highlight of our trip. I'd happily return and recommend it to anyone wanting a break from cookie cutter hotels. Such a charming, unique experience!

The owner was friendly and helpful, and made our visit more enjoyable. We found the rooms spacious and comfortable, with the hotel's antique charm being a big plus for me. After spending the day at the Creation Museum, we came here to rest before heading home. It was peaceful and relaxing. When it rained in the morning, we sat on the front porch and watched it pour, looking across the Ohio River toward Kentucky. I don't have much to add that Brandy McKenzie hasn't already said.

I needed a place for the night while passing through on a road trip, and this was the most beautiful, quiet, accommodating place I stayed. It's pet friendly with no extra fee. The owner was very kind, the price was perfectly affordable, and the town is wonderful. The hotel has an amazing history, too. I wish I'd stayed longer, and I hope I can come back and visit someday! ❤️
