Best Western Bronco Inn

I used to love staying here. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the holiday decorations are always lovely. But tonight I found a glue trap for mice and bugs in the women's public bathroom, and that really changed how I feel about the place. The hotel is next to a field, so I understand they may not get rid of every mouse, but trapping them this way is cruel. Anyone who wants to know what happens to a mouse stuck on one should look it up. There are more humane ways to catch and release them or deal with the problem. This place should be ashamed to use these traps.

The hotel itself was probably the nicest place I've stayed in for a long time. The rooms have been updated and are clean, and the lobby and shared areas are well kept and decorated for the seasons. The pool is open around the clock and looked cared for. They also serve cookies and milk in the lobby in the evening, and breakfast has plenty of hot and cold choices, different creamers, and medium or dark roast coffee. It's quiet, there weren't many other guests, and parking works for all kinds of vehicles. Ritzville doesn't offer much to do, though there are gas stations, a park, and a few restaurants nearby. All the staff apart from the front desk were great. The front desk people seemed unhappy in their jobs, and the person who checked us in didn't greet us and only did the bare minimum. Booking was a nightmare too. Their website kept sending us to booking.com. We wanted a double queen room on a non-pet floor, and asked to be placed somewhere quieter if possible because we were traveling with an autistic child who can sometimes be loud. They confirmed they could accommodate that request, but our reservation ended up as a pet room and a double queen accessible room. We were right in the middle of the hotel, so apologies to anyone nearby who had to hear the stimming. The smoke detector flashes all night, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to light.

Our room was roomy and spotless, with a fridge and microwave that came in handy. The outdoor area was clean and felt safe, with green space and potty stations for pets. Check-in was quick, and the receptionist was really friendly and kind. Breakfast was great, with make-your-own breakfast sandwiches, cereal, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, mini donuts, and plenty more. They even put out fresh cookies and coffee in the lobby every night at 7 pm. We'd happily stay here again.

Traveling alone with my dog from Minnesota to Washington State to move, I was so glad I stayed here along the way. It felt very safe, the queen beds were relaxing, and the breakfast was top tier, so I felt I got my money's worth. The rooms are well soundproofed, which helped ease my worry when my dog barked a little while I ran out to the car for a few things. I'd recommend it if you're making the drive, or if a late thunderstorm leaves you needing somewhere for the night. Clean and safe, a grassy pet area, and right off the interstate. Five stars!
