It was a bit chilly in my room, so I ended up using the blankets from the other bed too. Otherwise, the place is cute and exactly what it claims to be. The people were very helpful and accommodating, and even helped me track down something I’d forgotten after checkout. It’s really convenient for the convention center, though being downtown does mean some noise at night. I’d stay here again.

The hotel is a five-minute walk from the shuttle, which was the main reason I picked it, along with the price. I stayed for the Beyond Wonderland 2025 festival. The staff, from the front desk to housekeeping, were all wonderful. The room is basic, as I expected, not a Hilton or Marriott. The bed was comfortable and the shower was basic. My room faced the street, so there could be noise from car alarms or loud exhausts, though I barely noticed since I got in at 0330 and immediately collapsed. My one tiny complaint is the soap. It smells nice but doesn’t seem to work well. Keep expectations realistic: if all you need is a bed and shower, it’s perfect. For luxury, go somewhere else.

The grounds were clean and quiet, and there wasn’t anyone hanging around, so it felt family safe. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, like you’re visiting family or a good friend. The rate was great too. There are lots of food choices and wonderful sights to see nearby. It’s a great hotel all around, and I’ll definitely come back when I’m in Riverside.

The Santa Cruz Inn is an adorable, unique place with plenty of charm, having been built in 1927. I booked a room there for a friend from New York, who stayed for eight days and seven nights and truly enjoyed it. His room was clean, with new carpeting and a new bathroom. Susan and the staff were amazing and provided great service. I highly recommend it.
