Comfort Inn Airport

I was there over Thanksgiving week and had to extend my stay by a few days. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and gave excellent service. No complaints from me. Ms. Brenda at the front desk was especially upbeat and positive every time we crossed paths. Next time I'm in town, I'll make sure to get your cinnamon candy, Ms. Brenda.

Ants were the big problem. While getting ready for bed in our two-room suite with 2 Queen Beds and 1-Person Sofabed, I felt something on me and saw ants on the headboard wall and between the nightstand. We moved to the only other two-room suite available. It had the same layout, but a handicap access tub. It was late and seemed fine, with no ants. In the morning, more ants were on the wall next to our table at breakfast. Staff checked the area and the buffet food, but kept ignoring trash cans that were full and overflowing. The staff were polite and friendly, but we don't plan to stay here next time we're in town visiting family. The rooms and hotel looked fine in the online pictures and at initial check-in, but when we returned that evening to settle in, we saw how poorly maintained everything was. The bathroom had no towel bars, just one hook on the door for all guests to share. There were no end tables in the sitting area for drinks or a phone, so we used the ironing board as a table, though there was a nice in-wall fireplace. The bedroom TV didn't work at first because its power plug was loose in the back. The second room's toilet was defective, and I had to show my wife how to make it flush overnight until maintenance fixed it the next morning. I had to clean the dirty, grungy showerhead before using it. The door between the rooms wouldn't close without force, and seemed to have been that way a while, since a door takes time to bend the metal frame. The older exterior-wall AC units had inconsistent controls and temperature regulation, and it took a while to cool the rooms.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the shower gave me the safe, easy access I needed. When I booked by phone, I was told there wasn't a room with an "accessible" shower. But minutes after I arrived, the friendly, efficient front desk clerk checked and found one was available, then moved me into it. That lifted my mood. I'd stop here again.

The location is convenient, close to I-81 with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, the room was clean, and there's an ice machine right on the floor. Breakfast is included. I'd stayed at a terrible UN-Comfort Inn in Baltimore, but decided to give Comfort Inn another chance. I'm glad I did!
