We arrived at 3:30 am after a five-hour drive, with a reservation and an appointment that meant we only needed to stay until 8:00. The hotel had been told ahead of time that we’d arrive late, but the office was closed. We called four times before customer service got a front desk attendant to come. She opened the door without acknowledging us. I understood it was late, but she was clearly intoxicated and struggled with the key to the second office door for five to ten minutes, nearly falling. Inside, she just stared until I asked what information she needed. She slurred her words and asked for our IDs. I gave her my 60-day temporary driving license from the DMV, issued when I renewed my license, and explained it was a legal state document and showed her both sides. She refused it, said it wasn’t ID, then started cussing and repeatedly telling us to “look at time.” I said several times that I was aware of the time. There was no reasoning with her. She wouldn’t give me her name. She said she’d call a manager but didn’t seem able to use her phone or take any proper steps. I went outside to call customer service again and ask if someone else could help, someone able to communicate and not heavily under the influence. While I was out, she cursed at my partner and said, “call whoever I want to feel special”. I’ve never seen this level of unprofessionalism and dysfunction. I don’t recommend staying here. The service and treatment say everything about the establishment, and I plan to submit formal complaints. It also looked like everything in the lobby was being recorded.

The only good thing was how close the hotel is to the airport. I never expected luxury, but I did expect basic things to work: the toilet, lights, a secure door, and staff I could reach if there was a problem. None of that happened, and this was one of my worst hotel experiences. After waiting in the cold, someone eventually came down to check me in. I had arrived around 10:15 PM and found the building closed. There was a phone mounted outside that you were apparently meant to use to call for help, but no one had told me when I booked that the front desk closed at 10:00 PM. The room was unsafe feeling, poorly maintained, and unclean. The toilet wouldn’t flush, the bathroom light was out, and the door looked as if it had been kicked in, leaving a big gap that let cold air blow in all night. I had to smell my waste all night and shower in complete darkness. I tried several ways to get help, but got nowhere. The after-hours number went unanswered, the outside check-in phone didn’t work when I went back to it, and Hotels.com couldn’t reach anyone at the property either. I was stuck in a room with broken facilities and no support. The poor communication and lack of maintenance made the stay a total nightmare. I’d strongly advise people, especially anyone arriving late, to avoid this place.

The General Manager Ahmad and the rest of the staff are friendly and very helpful. It’s a great place, and I was happy to stay here.

Alhamdulilah, Mashallah to the management and staff. This is a great hotel for a long-term stay, and the room was very quiet even though it’s near the airport and a busy highway. There are lots of restaurants within a couple of miles, from fast food to sit-down family places. My room had a nice fridge with a freezer, microwave, and electric stove. The bed was comfortable, and guests can exchange linens and sheets whenever they want. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive.

I travel to I-81 all the time and chose to stay a night in Roanoke. This hotel was one of the worst. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.
