Hampton Inn Roanoke/Hollins - I-81

John answered when I called for a last-minute room while traveling north, and he was very helpful with the details. When we arrived, he remembered our conversation and had our room booked. Our room worked out perfectly: comfortable bed, quiet floor, large TV, and modern decor. The roll-in shower made things easy for my 6' 4" husband. The hotel has had a lot of upgrades, though it could still use some more. We’d definitely stay again on our travels. Even the clerk at checkout at 500am was friendly and cheerful.

During a dangerous winter storm, travelers are especially vulnerable, and I expect a business to be honest. The front desk employee told us every other hotel in the area was fully booked and implied this was our only option. I believe that was a lie meant to pressure us into booking. We left and immediately found better accommodations nearby that were available and more welcoming. A business should help keep the community safe in a crisis, not use people’s fear to fill rooms. If honesty and real hospitality matter to you, especially during a storm, look elsewhere. There are more honorable competitors in Roanoke that won’t play games with your safety for a few bucks.

Celeste and the rest of the staff were so accommodating, and especially sweet to my elderly parents. I can’t thank them enough for the hospitality during our stay. We’ll definitely come back.

I needed an emergency place to stay and first booked two nights. My plans changed, and the receptionist was kind enough to let me cancel one night. The room was clean and nice, with a spotless microwave and shower. It was peaceful, and I’d recommend staying here.
