The West End Flats

Very clean and quiet, with outstanding communication from the host. It’s in a distinctive historic neighborhood, and the surrounding homes are fun to look at. I’d absolutely come back if I’m passing through Roanoke again. A great place to stay.

We spent three nights here with our baby and dog while in town for a wedding. The layout was fun, the location was perfect, and being attached to a brewery was a bonus. The price was very reasonable and check-in was easy. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Roanoke, especially with a dog. There was a washer and dryer in our unit, which was handy, but it only worked on the hot water setting. I shrank a few T-shirts, so check it before using it.

Check-in is handled by text, and there’s no front desk, but they respond quickly. The service is top tier, the accommodations are outstanding, and the location is convenient. There’s a local brewery and bar/pub at the property, and it looked like they had game nights. If you plan to cook, bring a pan or two, that was the only thing I didn’t have. It didn’t bother me for a two-day stay. I’d absolutely do it again and wish places like this were more widespread. 11/10. Why stay in a hotel when this feels like a home away from home?

The flat had everything we needed to feel at home, with plenty of cookware and dishes, and fast enough internet for my husband to telework without issues. There’s a private courtyard just for flat guests, with room to walk our dog, comfy chairs for enjoying the spring weather, and a grill we could have used. The on-site brewery has very friendly staff, is pet-friendly, and has a good-sized yard for relaxing outside with your furry friend. We were visiting family and the rental was exactly what we needed, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. We’ll stay again. Highly recommend!
