Candlewood Suites Rochester Mayo Clinic Area by IHG

Dogs are allowed, and the staff are great. The rooms were clean, with a stove top, microwave, and huge fridge. Lots of places to eat are within walking distance. A great place to stay for Mayo visits.

It feels like a home away from home here. The staff are welcoming, and the place is extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable, with nice amenities.

Myranda made check-in so friendly and even offered my dogs treats. She answered my questions quickly and helped with the room, and the morning staff were just as wonderful. I also had a great conversation with the maintenance guy about our dogs. This is a dog friendly place, and the staff were the best. The room itself was nice, clean, and comfortable, which would already earn a good review. If I’m travelling this way again, I’ll make a point of staying here.

The staff were wonderful during our leisure stay from Thursday to Sunday, but the issue came after checkout. We paid the full bill at checkout on Sunday, then later the following week I noticed a hold for the entire stay still on my debit card. The hotel said it was my bank, but my bank said the hotel had placed the hold until Apr 10th. We checked out on Mar. 2nd. I understand a usual $50-100 hold for incidentals or damage, which normally clears in 1-2 days. This is different. Corporate assured me the hold would be released within 10 business days, and we’re on day 7 waiting. I’d hoped to give the hotel a great review, but after speaking with the manager by phone, I won’t choose IHG hotels if this is their policy and how they treat guests.
