Marriott Hartford/Windsor Airport

We celebrated my son’s 6th birthday in the pool area with about six kids, and they had a blast. The pool was clean, the water was warm, and there were lots of seats and tables. Staff were nice, and Nancy at the hotel restaurant was amazing. She was helpful and caring, and treated the kids like her own. It was our first time here and a great experience. Best hotel I’ve been to around the area. I’ll definitely be back!

I ended up taking my milk to my employer’s office to freeze it. I’m four months postpartum and had two nights here after two nights at another Marriott, where they stored my breastmilk without any problem. Traveling for work and keeping up milk for your child is hard enough without having to fight unsuccessfully to store it. It’s very frustrating and disappointing. I was told there was a mini fridge in the room, but it seemed less cold than the room itself, even set to its coldest. I’m here for five days and had milk already frozen from the previous hotel, so I needed a freezer. Three people at the front desk suggested asking the restaurant for ice packs to cool the mini fridge. The very nice women there said they didn’t have ice packs, but offered to keep the milk with their ice cream. That was kind, but the freezer was locked at certain times, which seemed like more hassle. The hotel made no real effort to accommodate me. It’s absurd that a working mom staying here has to deal with this for something that feeds her child. I know lots of moms who travel for work and haven’t had this problem. The hotel is pretty and the rooms decent, but despite the nice facilities, I won’t stay at this location again.

On the event day, the food was nothing like what we’d tasted or ordered. The vegetables were old and mushy instead of fresh roasted. The chicken was bone-in fried and tasted old and reheated, not boneless and flavorful as promised. The salmon was dry and bland, almost inedible, and most guests left the food untouched. This was my in-laws’ 50th wedding anniversary, a formal event with a live band, DJ, photography, and everything else. We spent a little over $10k, including around $8,000 on the food. At the tasting, the food had great flavor and presentation, and the hotel looked clean and organized. Staff were friendly then too. But when we contacted the manager after the event, we got no help and were basically asked why we hadn’t complained sooner. We emailed the hotel manager over two months ago and still haven’t heard back. The reply from the hotel doesn’t resolve this. I’d like some of the $8,000 back for the food we never got. It was a big party and a special moment for my family and me. Marriott dropped the ball, nobody took care of us, and we spoke directly with management. There have been zero attempts to make it right. I’m a veteran, and integrity is imperative. We stayed polite and professional the whole time, but the situation was handled poorly from start to finish. I can’t recommend the Windsor Marriott for events. Save yourself the stress and host yours somewhere else.

We booked a Continental Breakfast for 45 people on Sunday, but there was no water when it began and the coffee ran out soon after. Several guests went to the lobby for the free coffee the hotel offers. The food was store-bought quality, wasn’t refreshed properly, and came with very few condiments. That’s not what I’d expect from a Marriott. We were staying for a family wedding, and the suite rooms were very nice and spacious. Service and communication before the stay had been great.
