Homewood Suites by Hilton Rochester Mayo Clinic Area / Saint Marys

My stay was pleasant overall, and I'd stay again. The room was spacious and clean, and the kitchenette was clean and well supplied. Breakfast was the usual continental fare: the eggs were watery powdered ones, but the breads and pastries were fresh, and there were plenty of oatmeal toppings. My digital key wouldn't work for the elevator, so I couldn't skip the front desk and check-in.

I stayed six nights recently. The rooms were clean enough, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is 10/10 if you need to be at St Mary’s. My issue is they charged me $2 for water in the room that I didn't drink. I have status, so I shouldn't have been charged anyway. If they're going to play this ridiculous charge-for-water game, they should at least get it right.

We had a great week here while my dad had appointments at Mayo Clinic. We picked this hotel because he could have his own room and bathroom. It's a little farther from the clinic than some other hotels, but the shuttle is available. The front desk staff were phenomenal, and they were flexible when we needed to add days for appointments. We were in room 401, beside the linen closet, so our suite bedroom was noisy at times. There's a daily parking fee, and the garage is shared with Courtyard by Marriott. You need a key card to take the elevator to your floor. Housekeeping comes every other day. There's also a laundry room, with washing or drying costing $3 each. Soap and dryer sheets are for sale but a bit expensive, so bring your own. Breakfast is free and good, with hot food every morning: eggs, potatoes, a protein, and a big breakfast burrito bar, along with the usual muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, and so on.

It was a real comfort to have such caring service while a family member was having surgery and staying at St. Mary's. HS is lucky to have this team. The reception desk, breakfast staff, and housekeeping were especially good.
