Breakfast was awesome, especially the quiches and breakfast casserole. We booked for a family wedding nearby and appreciated having different lodging options, from room and bed setups to places with living areas or kitchens. The descriptions also explained details like whether a room was on the ground floor or upstairs by stairs. We were there in early May, just after the property had been de-winterized, and ran into a few issues: the TV wasn’t logged in, the water dispenser didn’t work, and the furnace and thermostat weren’t working. Staff responded right away and fixed what they could, including the TV. They called an HVAC company, which came that day and fixed the heating problem. While we waited, staff brought bottled water, a portable heater, and extra blankets. We really appreciated the quick response and temporary fixes.

Our room was freezing, at 68 degrees, even though it was August and the outdoor temperature was 71-81. Supposedly, none of the rooms have individual temperature controls. We hadn’t packed winter clothes or a down comforter for that kind of indoor cold. To be fair, they gave us a portable heater for the second night, but without a fan it only made the room marginally warmer. If you’re an Eskimo, go for it. Otherwise, pack for winter no matter the season. I would’ve rated the stay higher if not for the A/C problems.

I’ve stayed at the Inn, in the Manor House, three times now and will be back many more. It’s a cute, comfortable, inviting little haven, with lovely grounds and water views. The beds and pillows have all been great, and the rooms have what you need, including extra blankets, a fan, first aid, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, a mini fridge, and a cozy porch. The continental breakfast is always yummy, with fresh baked breads and quiche. The landscaping is gorgeous, and the crew works hard to keep all the flowers thriving. There’s plenty to do or just relax with bikes, kayaks, a hammock, pools, shuffleboard, grills, waterside rocking chairs, and more. Being right on the water is wonderful, and the sunset colors over the marina are breathtaking. I look forward to this trip every year. Rock Hall is great too. I always enjoy eating at the Harbor Shack and Blue Heron, and shopping in the little town stores. Don’t miss a sailing charter through Blue Crab or a peaceful beach sunset at the park. It’s a scenic getaway for families, couples, or solo travelers like me.

We chose a quiet weekend wandering around the property, though we saw others heading into town, including people riding the inn’s bikes. Our room at the Manor House was clean and spacious, with a small screened-in balcony overlooking the water and a nice jetted tub. Breakfast had some really good continental choices, including hot items. We also spent time at the pool, a short walk away, with some shade available. We ate at the Passages bar and Ark & Dove restaurant, and liked both. My wife and I had a lovely stay and would return!

We were disappointed by The Ark and Dove. The quantity and quality of the food were especially frustrating given the high prices. Still, my husband and I were delighted with our last-minute 15th anniversary stay. The Afterdeck room was VERY clean, with tasteful nautical decor, soft colors, a comfortable bed, a larger-than-usual hotel fridge, and a spectacular view. Check-in was easy, and the man who greeted us was nice and knowledgeable. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and open to explore, with amenities at this and their other properties. We had morning coffee on the dock in Adirondack chairs. The great room has a B&B feel, coffee is available 24/7, and the brunch was better than most hotel continental breakfasts. I did miss having an ice machine. For a romantic getaway in a lovely, clean, peaceful place, I highly recommend it.
