Courtyard by Marriott Rock Hill

Chelsea, the General Manager, is the standout for me. She’s delightful, and the team she leads consistently puts in great effort and makes each stay feel special. This is my first choice whenever I’m in the area, and I recommend it to colleagues, friends, and family. It has a great location for business, along with a peaceful, warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The stay itself was comfortable, and the hotel was accommodating. The indoor pool wasn’t heated, but that was okay. At checkout we wanted to pay with a gift card, which was different from the card we’d used to book the room. The desk woman said we couldn’t. We asked for a supervisor because we’d been told beforehand that a gift card was fine. The supervisor told her she could use it to cover the stay, and she rolled her eyes. She was rude to both us and her supervisor. She had a pink headband and a pink flower straw topper on her thermos. I would have given five stars if that hadn’t happened.

In January 2026, our first room smelled strongly of wet dog, and the sliding glass door was slightly open when we entered and wouldn’t lock, which felt like a security concern. We moved to another room that was a little better. Later, we contacted the front desk about billing because they’d charged the wrong card, even after we confirmed the correct one with them twice. They offered no help beyond submitting another credit card authorization, which could take up to 10 business days to post. They offered no compensation for their mistake.

The front desk staff were super friendly, and I loved the smell as you came through the door. It’s not far from places to eat or shop, and the rooms are clean and huge. The only thing needing attention was the extra-small room TVs. I saw them bringing in TVs on my last day, so hopefully those were replacements. All in all, it was a good stay.
