Hampton Inn Rock Hill

The location worked well for us, less than 4 miles from town and Christmasville, with stores, malls, restaurants, and coffee shops within walking distance. All the staff were friendly, and the front desk clerk was especially kind. She made suggestions for places to eat and helped us in the evenings when we played games, warming up food, getting hot water for hot chocolate, and finding us something to eat with. She worked both nights we were there and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Customer service matters to us, and it can make or break a place. I do have to say the food has really gone downhill at Hampton Inns. We'd rather go out to eat than have what they provide. The rest of the hotel was like most Hampton Inns we stay at.

We had to stay here for a tournament, but the room was gross and I wouldn't come back. The floors were sticky, there was hair everywhere, and the corners were dirty. The front desk staff were nice and accommodating, but the room wasn't clean.

I picked this hotel for its location near shopping, dining, and my family. The room was clean and service was great, with very nice and helpful people at the front desk. The mattresses could be newer and more comfortable, and the WiFi was unreliable. For one whole day the TV reception was bad, and the picture froze for several seconds at a time. One elevator also sounded and felt like it might fall apart any day. If those problems were fixed, I might consider staying here again.

The rooms were clean, the location was great, and breakfast was good. The hard bed gave me back pain on a couple of mornings, and I had to take Tylenol both times. I've never been to prison, but I imagine the beds there feel similar. Housekeeping also threw out my dirty laundry, which I'd left in my room in a laundry bag. I guess they thought it was garbage. I spoke with Chuck and Alice at the front desk, and they said a housekeeping supervisor would contact me. So far, nobody has.
