Super 8 Motel - Rock Springs

The blanket had holes and made me itch the whole time, so I had to wrap up in my own blanket. The king bed also came with tiny square pillows, the sort you’d see on a couch. I wouldn’t recommend this place. They accused me of smoking in my room, which I didn’t do. They said they could smell smoke on me and told me to make sure I didn’t smoke in the room. I’d smoked in my vehicle in a state where marijuana is legal, so I didn’t think anything of the smell on me. They told me I could stay and wouldn’t charge my deposit since I hadn’t smoked in the room, but someone kept knocking on my door every ten minutes. About 15 minutes later, while I was in the shower, police were knocking. Why say I could stay and then have police there within 30 minutes? Even after the owner said I could stay, I was charged for two days, an extra day and my deposit. I appreciate that the officers were understanding.

The location is terrific, parking is great, and it was quiet with friendly people at the desk. Rooms are clean and nice, though service to them wasn’t very good. The pool was cold, there was no hot tub and no cribs. Breakfast was fine, and for what I paid, it was all good.

There were a few problems in the room: a large brown stain on one mattress, a light fixture partly coming out of the wall, and a piece of the metal bed frame sticking out that cut my brother’s shin. Still, we enjoyed the stay and everything else was fine. I’d never seen a motel room with three beds before, which was really cool. My whole family could stay together without feeling cramped.

The hotel is dated, though it was full every night I stayed. It was very quiet despite being in a noisy part of town, and I had one of my best nights of sleep there. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. I’d recommend it.
