That front desk agent asking how my workday went really stayed with me. After a hard day on the job and a drive through afternoon gloom and rush hour, it meant a lot to be greeted by someone who seemed to care about me as a person. That says a lot about her and the staff. I was traveling here for an assignment, and the staff were so nice. They gave me a room close to the lobby, and it was absolutely beautiful. I loved the red chair and table, my favorite color. The bed was super comfortable, and I slept better than I have anywhere lately while traveling. The pictures on the wall were calming, too. Breakfast had a big selection, including yogurt, which was a healthy option for me. The little flower arrangements on the tables were such a nice touch and meant more than anyone realizes. I highly recommend this place when traveling to the Rockaway area. 11/27/2025, Thanksgiving for what I’m so thankful for!

I come from Baltimore, MD, for work every two weeks. The price is reasonable for the area, service is good, and the facilities are decent. Shyam helped me and was professional. The one problem was that I left two tablet chargers behind. I called about two hours after checkout and asked them to hold them until my next visit. They said they would, but when I came back two weeks later, they said nothing was there and suggested housekeeping might have thrown them out. They should be more careful with details like that.

I’d stayed here three times and wasn’t going to leave a bad review until last night. That was my last stay. The first two times, housekeeping didn’t come as scheduled. We had to ask them to clean because the trash was overflowing, and the housekeeper had a complete attitude. Hot water also only lasted so long before turning cold. There are long-term guests and a strong weed smell. My brother asked someone who spoke their language to call and check whether the room had a refrigerator and microwave. They said yes. After checking in, I went out for a few hours and came back to find no microwave in the room. There was one downstairs in the newer building out back. The front desk guy said he didn’t know what we meant, claimed none of the rooms had microwaves and there hadn’t been any for three years, then rolled his eyes, shrugged, and said “oh well.” He called us liars, even though we’d stayed there and knew there was a microwave in the newer building. We asked to switch rooms, but he refused and told us to use the lobby microwave. We wanted to eat in the lobby so our food wouldn’t get cold. After being lied to and denied a move to the bottom floor, we asked for a refund. The next day, the boss’s wife, a coworker, and another worker gossiped about us yelling at him, even though his body language had been rude and he’d refused to move us. In the end they gave us a suite that costs a lot more. At first, he’d wanted us to pay for a suite. I took photos for my records to show Wyndham, the Better Business Bureau, and anyone else I can report this to. The microwave was in the bottom row of the newer building. Shame on the owners and the night front desk guy.

My room was decent and clean, though it smelled a little, which was fine. The price is usually cheap, and you get what suits the price. They have room types without microwaves that cost less. I wanted to mention the noise. I couldn’t tell if it was a machine or someone hammering or knocking on the wall. It was really loud, coming from the bathroom light area, and went on all night. It disturbed us, so we used AirPods to block it out. My room was number 354. Maybe you can check what’s wrong with it.
