We spent Valentine's weekend in the cottage, which had two rooms, a kitchenette, and a lovely patio overlooking the garden where we could have wine. It felt almost like a honeymoon spot. The owners were so nice, and the whole weekend was sweet. We'd originally planned a Saturday night hot air lantern launch as a surprise, but thunderstorms affected some of the weekend. The cottage was comfortable enough that we stayed in and rested instead. We found this charming, comfortable motel, the oldest in Texas, and it ended up being the best part of the weekend.

The owners were so welcoming and kind, and the pups were sweet. The kitten colony was a big bonus! This place was sooo cute, and the homemade muffins and cider were everything. It's definitely going to be our go-to when we're in Rockdale. Such a little gem, thanks so much! Bernadette. T

We stayed for a week in a clean, pleasant cottage at a great price. Everything worked, and the owner was very friendly. It had that good old-days kind of feel.

The room was cozy and had a comfortable bed, effective climate control, and a mix of modern and antique furniture. I traveled alone and chose the smallest room, but as a small woman I felt safe. There were a few signs of wear that seem normal in a historic building, including a very fiddly shower control. If you need a gym, pool, or the latest decor, you might prefer somewhere else. For me, this place was great. Rainbow Courts is a charming mom-and-pop motel in the middle of nowhere in Texas. Its rooms are in historic buildings around a central courtyard, with lights in the trees, chairs by small fire pits, and curious cats moving through the flower beds. I was visiting friends in Cameron, who recommended it, and I'm glad I listened. It's cozy, clean, and so affordable. What a gem!

The staff and service were awesome, but there were several roaches in the bathroom and shower. The fridge was switched off when we arrived and smelled awful, and we found random things from previous guests under the bed.
