The Palmer Inn & Tennis Club

We only stayed one night, but the staff made a good impression. We arrived early and they got the room cleaned so we could check in ahead of time. It was very nice and, most importantly, clean. The main issue was hearing the people upstairs walking late into the night. It isn't the Inn's fault, though the floors and walls seem thin, and the noise affected my sleep. The blinds were nice, but curtains would look better and keep out more light from outside. Even with those two drawbacks, I had a great stay and would return.

The pool and duck pond out back were both pleasant and well looked after. The place has a sweet, attentive staff and a family-run feel. Although you enter the rooms from outside, they don't feel like motel rooms at all, with attractive decor and very good cleanliness. After a few disappointing places on recent trips, this was a welcome treat.

Good job, Palmer I&TC! This is clearly an older hotel, but the recent updates have made the rooms really nice. The bed was super comfortable and everything was neat and clean. Staff were friendly and hospitable, and I felt at home. It's not perfect, but they really try, which is more than I can say for many independently owned hotels. One of my best hotel stays in a long time. I'm rounding up to five stars since there's no 4.8 option, and I'd happily stay again and recommend it.

The room was roomy and nicely updated, with a super-comfortable bed and good shower pressure. I liked having a kitchenette and lots of space to put my luggage away. The staff were friendly and attentive, too. I'll be back. Thanks!
