Frisco Flats by Miss Kitty’s

We hoped our seven-night stay could have been much longer. The deck and downstairs family area made it easy to spend time together and enjoy the bay, and the recently remodeled home was beautiful, clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe. Miss Kitties' owner management looked after us well, as they always have. The lighted pier is one of the best I've fished from. We caught lots of big trout and red fish, including numerous 17-20 inch trout and keeper red fish. I've been a customer for many years, and this is why. Miss Kitties Frisco Flats is one of the best rentals on the Texas Gulf Coast, and we'd highly recommend it.

The house itself was pretty nice. We liked the short pier and caught plenty of small fish, though nothing close to a keeper. There were lots of crabs, both small and large. I hate leaving my first negative review after so many stays in Gulf Coast rentals, but the condition of this place ruined what should have been a fun vacation. The floors were soaking wet and slippery when we arrived after the 4 PM check-in time, while the cleaning staff was still there and eager to leave. We tracked muddy spots across the floor with each step. Waiting two or three hours for it to dry wasn't really an option that late in the day. Outside, full trash bags sat in a large wooden box. Pickup was scheduled for Monday, but the bags stayed there throughout our visit, looking and smelling bad. The kitchen had several obvious problems. The coffee maker still had a filter full of moldy, dirty grounds, and dried coffee stains inside the pot. There were food stains on the wall and behind the trash can at the kitchen entrance, and the cabinet beside it was stained too. The cleaners hadn't moved the bin. My sister, who can't stand that sort of mess, had to clean the area and coffee machine herself. There were crumbs all over the counter between the kitchen and dining area, and food stains on the outside of the dishwasher, which she cleaned as well. No wonder we saw so many bugs. We paid almost $200 for a cleaning fee. It's hard to see where that money went, since the house plainly hadn't been cleaned properly.

I had already paid in full for a Sunday, July 7 reservation when a hurricane was forecast to hit directly on Monday, July 8. On July 5, I called to ask about moving to another available week and was told they wouldn't let me reschedule. I was worried about the policy, especially with the 2024 Beryl storm coming. Thankfully, they let me change the date on the 6th, and I appreciate that.

This was our third visit, and everything was great again. The home was clean and well arranged, and Miss Kitty's was very helpful with anything we needed. We love the new patio.
