We had a very nice stay, and the room was about twice the size of an average double bed suite, with nice furnishings. There weren’t any amenities at this time of year, though, and nothing about the room was especially remarkable. The staff were sweet. The hallways and elevators looked and smelled old and could use freshening up.

The rooms were spacious, nice, and mostly clean, but the staff made the stay miserable. From the front desk to housekeeping, room service, and the bartender, people were rude, unfriendly, and unwilling to help. They acted like they hated their jobs and made me feel like I was a bother instead of a welcome guest. Shame. Whenever I asked for something, they were out of it, and the lobby convenience store stayed empty my whole visit. With so many hotels in the area, I don’t think I’d stay here again.

Even breakfast on the second day was a letdown. As compensation for the room mess, we got two vouchers for breakfast that normally cost $12 each. Then we heard the chef hadn’t come to work, so we toasted cheap, tasteless bagels ourselves and had cold cereal. That so called free breakfast was terrible. We’d booked three rooms, but on arrival learned they weren’t actually booked. The front desk eventually gave us three keys, and one didn’t work. When we reported it, the man said there might be someone in the room and we’d have to get them out. That was absurd. We finally got into that room, only to find the toilet didn’t work. For the high price, the service was unbelievably bad, almost comical. There was no fridge or microwave, and the bathroom door didn’t lock, which was weird. We paid $200 for a room that wasn’t even available. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. A car or park bench might be better.

The large rooms, huge comfy bed, nice staff, and great location were real positives. The staff were accommodating too. Cleanliness was a problem, though. The counters and other surfaces were visibly dusty and dirty, and the shared microwave had the same food bits in it for three days. The bathroom was moldy and dusty. During the Covid-19 pandemic, that didn’t feel reassuring.
