Hampton Inn Dallas-Rockwall

The friendly staff were one bright spot, and I’ve stayed in worse places, so I can’t give this a one. Still, compared with my past experiences, this stay was abysmal and nowhere near worth what we paid. We were sleepy from traveling and stopped here, but we won’t return if we pass through again. There was a strange smell throughout the hotel. In our room, a lone wooden chair in the corner looked odd and a little creepy, and the bed had a dent or hole I fell into, even though we were told the mattresses were new. My husband also thought the waffles tasted funny, which he’s never said about hotel waffles before. The morning breakfast was more than continental, which was a pleasant surprise after two young women had told us the night before that it would be continental. They seemed nice and were trying to help, but I don’t think they knew what continental breakfast means.

I’ve returned many times over the years, and the hotel has stayed clean and well kept. This time I booked one night by mistake when I needed two, and management kindly added another night for me. I appreciate the staff helping me out.

We’ve stayed here several times for different reasons, recently because of health issues in the family. Having clean beds and bathrooms helps take some of the stress away. The coffee is always hot, breakfast is better than at most Hampton Inn locations, and my husband especially loves the oatmeal. That’s not to say other Hilton or Hampton locations have bad breakfasts. There’s something special about this place. We’ve stayed in hotels across the country and around the world, but the teamwork and care from Kailey, Nalini, Laura, Chloe, Florina, and everyone else stand out. Kim even helped me when I called because I didn’t know how to leave a review. I should’ve written one sooner. If you need a place near Dallas, stay in Rockwall and try this one.

The nearby construction made the entrance a little tricky, but it was worth the highway exit. In the morning, breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the in-room coffee was excellent. I liked the tea even more. My room was spotless, nicely decorated, and comfortable enough to feel like a small retreat. The bathroom was just as clean and inviting. It was such a pleasant surprise, and I’ll happily stay here again.
